Building on the success of Birchwood’s VIP (Veterans Inclusion Project), our now established Veteran’s hub provides social activity, ‘walk-in’ or virtual peer support and mentoring, advice on welfare, benefits, pensions, and medal advice as well as support for carers. They will also be able to access our holistic wrap around services including mental health and wellbeing such as counselling, mediation, housing, and financial advice as well as working with a range of organisations in the area to shape better pathways to employment.

The hub is run by veterans and is exclusive to those from the armed forces, reservists, and their families. At our mental health and wellbeing centre, we have a drop-in lounge for veterans or their family who are in crisis.

Social and Support Groups

Our free in-house courses include digital inclusion workshops, yoga, meditation, and craft sessions, as well as men/women-only social events. There are also outdoor activities available for ‘all year round’ social networking as well as sheds for veterans, which are used for engineering and mechanical workshops. These events and groups meet face to face, or we can arrange virtual meetings.

Birchwood Breakfast Information

At our breakfast hub, new and existing members will be welcomed and offered breakfast barms, coffee, tea, and camaraderie always available.

We are always looking for individuals who are either currently serving, a veteran or a family member to support the development of the hub or Birchwood’s wider services. Whether you have a couple of hours or a couple of days spare, we would love to hear from you.
