Birchwood is an established provider of supported living solutions within West Lancashire.  From its head office, Birchwood supports individuals and families across Skelmersdale and the surrounding area to live independently in their own homes and within the heart of their community.

Providing support within over 50 supported housing units in West Lancashire, we offer a range of options depending on individual needs and funding pathways, which include shared tenancies of between three and five people and single tenancies incorporating a number of self-contained apartments.

Our supported accommodation services are designed to assist adults and young people in West Lancashire to maintain their tenancy, maximise independence and integration back into the community, whilst remaining safe and happy with help from our dedicated Support Workers.

 This may include support in the following areas;

·         Accessing Birchwood’s Social Inclusion Team’s activities and classes

·         Developing and maintaining life skills

·         Developing and maintaining relationships

·         Accessing statutory services such as GPs

·         Accessing benefits and funding

·         Managing all aspects of tenancy including paying bills, budgeting and domestic tasks

·         Undertaking meaningful volunteering opportunities within our social enterprises
