Well, the summer is in full swing and even if it is not always the glorious tropical climate we might wish for, it is still a nice time to get out and about and enjoy the warmer weather.

At Birchwood, we have been making the most of the weather when we can and being outside in the gardens.  Our summer house is a great little space to get away from it all and curl up with a good book or just  to take some time for quiet contemplation.

I always think Skelmersdale looks its best in summer - we are surrounded by woodlands and there is greenery everywhere you look.

Getting out and about in the fresh air, mindful walks and getting stuck in digging in the garden are all great ways to contribute to our overall mental health and well-being.

I am going to make a real effort to do more of that in the coming weeks, even into autumn, when I can.

In West-lancs there are lots of festivals and interesting things to do on our doorstep - lots of free stuff too!  Here is a link to find out more.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the summer whether you are at home, on a 'stay-cation' or off to sunny, far flung places.
