Why quality matters.. Getting better what what we do At Birchwood we work hard to keep our services up to date and regularly consult with those who access our services for feedback and ideas about how we can continue to improve. Their ideas, critique and creativity are valuable source of information about what we do and how we can best shape our services, in response to real need. Another way for organisations and charities like ourselves to grow and develop is by working towards and achieving nationally recognised quality marks. These often provide a framework and criteria for us to work through, that help us to measure our work activity against a set of good practice standards. Our recent successes include: Selnet's Enterprise in Society award: Most effective collaboration 2018 GSK IMPACT AWARD in partnership with The Kings Fund 2019 Investors in People 2019 West Lancashire LGBTQ Quality Mark 2019 We are of course really proud of all of these awards and have used the learning to improve our services and internal systems and processes, as a result. Most importantly; and the driving force behind all of this, is our ambition to provide the best quality projects and services we can, for the people we support. This does not mean aiming to be perfect - as we all know there is no such thing! Its all about working towards something and getting a little bit better at what we do, everyday. As 2019 draws to a close I am looking ahead at 2020 and wondering what exciting achievements lie ahead for our organisation and the wider Birchwood family.
