Our colleges have a good range of courses to suit every career or employment pathway. Remember it is never too late to learn, so whether you are about to leave school, have recently left, or have had a learning “break” and done other things, and now want to choose to attend a course there will be something for you.
Courses start at different times of the year, and can be part or full time – keep your eye on the college websites, they release new information throughout the year.
Most colleges like you to apply on line.
If you need equipment for your course, or uniform or have to attend trips/events as a course requirement, and you have a low or no income all colleges have a Learner Support Fund – so contact Student Services and they will help you apply for financial help. You may also be entitled to a Bursary. Ask!!
Make the most of what college offers – there are always clubs and societies, and activities that will interest you – that may not be anything to do with your course! Join in! Have fun! Meet new people and make friends!
The new West Lancashire College are offering a wider range of course, particularly in the vocational areas, and exciting new facilities such as the “state of the art” Hair, beauty and Wellbeing Salon, open to the public, and the Work Gateway – to support improving people’s employability and job application skills. Watch out for events – like the Apprenticeship event next week!
