The Birchwood Centre, in addition to its role as a supported accommodation project with advice and information service, is working with young people in the community who are at risk of homelessness or vulnerable to disengagement.
The focus of the service is to reduce youth homelessness by helping to sort out the problems that young people face that may result in them losing their home – with the family, or evicted from a tenancy.
The problems may include conflict in the family, financial difficulties arising from non attendance at college or training, problems with benefits, problems with a tenancy, or other personal issues that affect where you live.
Support will be practical – advice and information, help to solve disagreements, help to get other specialist support, help with application for housing, help with issues concerning college, training or work.
We can also provide bathing and laundry facilities.
